Gameplay in the Fantastic Haven Demo

Jumping into the Fantastic Haven demo may come naturally to players with a lot of city-builder and management sim experience. However, the tutorial is a bit more hands-off, so players who are new to the genre may take a bit longer to get accustomed to the controls.
I only really had an issue toward the end of the demo when I had to release a creature back into the wild. I had a hard time figuring out how to release them. Otherwise again for me gameplay was easy to grasp.
I did have to drop the quality to low, to get the demo to run smoothly on my system. However, the visuals did not drop too much in quality.
Fantastic Creatures & Magical Melodies

Fantastic Haven’s art style is whimsical and fun, and all the creatures in the demo look great so far. The “magic” effects add a nice touch when healing sick creatures. While Fantastic Haven takes influences from games like Zoo Tycoon, I appreciate the lack of cages. Enclosures players build in the game, have a magic force field along the ground, but still feel like a natural habitat.
Final Thoughts On the Fantastic Haven Demo
Overall Fantastic Haven is a whimsical take on the traditional zoo management games. The creatures look great, and I can’t wait to see how things change in the full release. If you enjoy games like Zoo Tycoon and Planet Zoo, but also like Fantasy RPGs you should try the demo for Fantastic Haven.
