Gameplay in Unrailed 2: Back on Track

Jumping into Unrailed 2: Back on Track is easy. Players have the option to play Unrailed 2 by themselves or with friends, in local and online lobbies. Setting up a private multiplayer lobby was quick, and the lobby code system makes Unrailed 2 great for community nights on stream.
Gameplay in Unrailed 2 is simple, players mine and chop lumber to make rails to get each train from one point to the next. As the levels progress getting from point A to point B gets more difficult, as animals and other hazards such as rivers slow down construction efforts.
However, once players reach a train station upgrades can be unlocked to help make rail construction more efficient. These upgrades can range from magnets that pull resources onto the train to ways to slow down a train.
In addition to controller support, Unrailed 2 is playable on the Steam Deck. On the Steam Deck, the game runs just as smoothly as on a PC. There was no delay when playing together in a lobby, which makes Unrailed 2 a great on-the-go game.
Chaotic Fun

The art style in Unrailed 2 is fun and works perfectly with the chaotic nature of the game. There are several cute animal characters players can choose for their avatar. The game also has emotes that each player can use to communicate during the game. This is great when playing online without a microphone.
The soundtrack is relaxing. It is easy for music and sound effects in timed games to overwhelm players in fast-paced games, however, Unrailed 2’s soundtrack and sound effects do not have this issue. Everything works well together despite how chaotic a gameplay session can become, and it adds to the fun.
Final Thoughts on Unrailed 2: Back on Track
Overall Unrailed 2: Back on Track is a fantastic cooperative experience. The controls are easy for players to jump into on both the PC and the Steam Deck. Gameplay is fast-paced and teamwork is the magic word to advancing through the levels. The art and music worked great together, and everything was a delightful experience. If you enjoy party games such as Overcooked and Moving Out, you should give Unrailed 2: Back on Track a try.
