WATCH: TUTORIAL | SIMPLE FOUNTAIN IN MINECRAFT
Adding a fountain to your Minecraft world is a great way to add a focal point to a town or a hidden point of interest for your server-mates to find. This tutorial will guide you through creating a simple fountain design in Minecraft.
Build a Square Base Then Expand

Start by building an 8×8 square base in the ground out of stone blocks. Leave the inside of the 8×8 square empty and dig down 3 blocks, making the walls 2 blocks high. Fill in the floor of the building with stone blocks as well.

Next round out the shape by adding 3 blocks to the front and back of the original square and 4 blocks to each side. Then remove the blocks directly behind these additions. Remove the 4 corner blocks of the original 8×8 square rim as well.
Add a Fountain to the Fountain

Next, add a fountain, this will be where the falling water comes from. Place a set of 2×3 rectangles made of stone blocks in the center of the building. Next add stone walls on top of the top blocks, connecting the two in the back with a stone wall between them, and leaving the front wall pieces separate.
Using wooden fence posts on top of the 4 corner wall pieces go up three blocks high. This will create a ladder pattern on the sides where the posts connect. Add two more fence posts at the top on both sides, making 4 post blocks across each side. Then connect the posts on the front and back of the top with 1 fence post. This should make the top of the build a 3×4 rectangle of fence posts.

For the top of the fountain use stone slabs to create a “roof” over the fence posts. Place a 3×4 rectangle of slabs as the base on top of the existing fence posts. Then add 2 slabs on top of the middle slabs on the long sides and 1 slab on the middle slab on the short sides of the roof. Then place six stone wall pieces on top of the slabs that make full blocks to close off the top.
Add Water & Decorate

Now fill the bottom of the fountain with water using a water bucket. To add the falling water effect go under the roof of the fountain and place the water on one of the full stone blocks. The water will naturally fill both spaces as it falls.
Now all that is left is to decorate the fountain and add pathing. Use lanterns to light the fountain and the path leading up to it, and add vines, and frogs. Use stone stairs to make the rim around the bottom of the fountain more decorative with levels.
