There are multiple ways you can add roofs to Minecraft builds, this guide will take a look at the gable roof style.

Building a Gable Roof in Minecraft

A gable roof has two slopes that meet in the middle, forming a triangle. This style of roofing can be achieved by using stairs and slab blocks.

To start, place two stair blocks upside down on the sides of the house, then stack more stair blocks until there is one block between the top set of stairs. Use slabs to connect the stairs and create the slope of the roof. Repeat this step on the other side of the build.

Connect the two sides using more stairs to fill in the long gap. Then the roof is done.

Gable roofs are good modular roofs to add layers to larger builds in your Minecraft servers. Once you are comfortable making a simple gable roof, you should expand on your builds.
