OVERVIEW

Swings are a great way to use limited space in Minecraft, here are a few swing design ideas to add to your server.

Tree Swing

To make a tree swing, first find a tree you want to use, you can always add “branches” using matching blocks. Then, place two rows of four (eight total) chains connected to a branch. These can be placed close together or further apart to make smaller or larger swings. Beneath the chains add wooden slabs of your choosing to make the seat. Use matching trapdoors to add a backrest if desired.

Swingsets are another way to add swings to Minecraft worlds. Start by making a simple base, using two stone blocks with four spaces in between them. Then place two stone wall pieces on either top of the stone blocks. Stack three wooden fence posts on top of the stone wall pieces, then add another stone wall piece on top of each stack. Connect the top using six wooden slabs of any variation.

The last step is to add the swing using eight chains (four on each side), and four wooden slabs connecting the chains on the bottom. Trap doors can be placed on the back of the swing to create a backrest.

More detailed swingsets can be created by combining more block variations, such as stairs, logs, etc. Decorating the area around each type of swing/swing set can also bring the space to life, so always experiment.
