Manage Subscriptions in Gmail

Gmail users may have noticed a new feature on their sidebar, this feature allows users to manage all their subscriptions in one place. The Manage Subscriptions feature is currently being rolled out, so not every user may have access to it currently.

To check if this feature is available, first open Gmail and then select More on the sidebar. The Manage Subscriptions feature will be above the Manage Labels tab if available to a Gmail user. This will open the Subscriptions page, which lists every sender’s email address and the number of recent emails from that address.

Users can scroll through the list and unsubscribe from unwanted subscriptions. This feature is a great option for Gmail users who may be receiving hundreds of spam emails from the same address.

Drawbacks to the New Feature

While the Manage Subscriptions feature makes unsubscribing to unwanted email subscriptions easier, the feature does not remove existing emails from that sender. Users will still need to delete any emails received before using the feature.

Senders may also take a few days to fully unsubscribe a user from their mailing list, so Gmail users may still receive some unwanted emails until they are fully removed from the sender’s lists. These messages will appear in the spam folder

Despite these drawbacks, Gmail’s new Manage Subscriptions feature is a great start for users decluttering and better organizing their digital spaces.
