In Astra: Fading Stars, players will explore and attempt to save a beautiful hand-drawn fantasy world from corruption. Players will use their Astra Call, an ability that comes from their soul, to interact with the environment and battle challenging foes.

While exploring the world, players will find clues and puzzles hidden in unsuspecting places. In addition to clues and puzzles, players will discover ways to upgrade their strength and defense using Astra to help them overcome the many obstacles in their path.

Demo Gameplay Experience

The Astra: Fading Stars demo guides players through the game’s beginning. Here, players familiar with a variety of Metroidvania games will find that the demo leading up to the boss fight is pretty standard in terms of ease for a starting area.

Players will navigate through an ancient cave system by platforming and defeating various enemies. As well as solving a few environmental puzzles, collecting star fragments, and upgrading their abilities. Depending on how much players explore the ruins, this portion of the demo can take around twenty-five minutes to complete.

The end of the Astra: Fading Stars demo has players face off against a boss to escape the ruins. The boss fight itself was not too difficult to complete; however, some players may find the hint given after losing to the boss the first time a bit too vague. However, once players overcome the boss fight, they will reach the end of the Astra: Fading Stars demo within an hour.

Overall, the Astra: Fading Stars demo is a relatively easy demo to complete. The platforming and environmental puzzles in the demo are fun and seamless. The enemies and bosses offer just enough of a challenge to show what players can expect to come in the full release of the game.
