Thoughts on Game Over – A Musical RPG??

Game Over – A Musical RPG takes players on an adventure that happens after the main game comes to an end. Some players may wonder what happens when the boss is defeated, and the princess has been saved, and Game Over explores that.

Game Over begins with players challenging a dragon to battle to save a princess, their friend Pin. It is during this encounter that players will get introduced to the rhythm-based combat mechanics. Players familiar with standard rhythm games may pick up the controls quicker than those new to the genre. The game is playable on keyboard or controller, and also has three difficulty modes to choose from.

After the first combat encounter, players will arrive in their home village, and can meet a quirky set of characters they can speak with. Some of these characters will ask for assistance, while others may hold grievances with the hero for putting them out of business. After interacting with the village for a while, a mysterious force will cause chaos in the village, and the hero will need to go on a new adventure to save the day once more.

Game Over – A Musical RPG features a unique and fun soundtrack. Music in combat encounters can range from metal to disco, while even the NPCs “speak” in various instrument sounds. With music being used in so many different elements, there are times when a shift between tracks can be jarring, however, this also works to show how chaotic things in the game’s world are.

Overall, Game Over – Musical RPG is a wacky take on the rhythm game and RPG genres. If you enjoy games such as Double Kick Heroes and Undertale, you should check out Game Over – A Musical RPG.
